MultiBridge HD downconversion EVER going to happen
We’ve had a MultibridgeHD for over a year. After finally getting a working version of it in the spring, we’re still waiting for the originally advertised down conversion capability.
Does anyone know if this will EVER happen, or were we suckered in?
And yes, I know you can do it on the DeckLinkHD, we’ve got 16 of them. I’d like to make downconvert dubs without going to all the trouble of tieing up a G5 station.

Hi Stephen,
Sorry for the delay and yes it is finally close to happening. I think it will be in one of the next couple of Multibridge software releases. The downconversion our engineers have been working on for Multibridge Extreme is what we’re also going to add to Multibridge HD. This means you will be able to set Multibridge HD to downconversion mode which will be perfect for SD dubs. We’ve paid a lot of attention to the new hardware down conversion so I think you’ll be very happy with the results.

Hi Mody,
The hardware down conversion for Multibridge Extreme should appear in one of the next two Multibridge software/firmware updates. So it should only be a short while before it appears. The downconversion code for Multibridge will appear in both Multibridge Extreme and Multibridge HD.
