April 9, 2006 at 10:58 pmNo budget limit – no question – get a Discreet Logic Inferno, running on an SGI computer. This is a teriffic product. And while you are at it, I could use a new Ferrari – if you get me the Ferrari, I will come and install the Discreet Inferno for you for free (you did say no budget limit).

April 10, 2006 at 11:17 amFor your DVCPRo hd
Inferno not worth better off with Multibridge extreme with quad Huge 4210 array with Atto PCI-e FC card
30″ display 2 nosSoftware
FCP
Sapphire,
Mokey & Monet ( the best 2D and 2.5 D tracking software, people who dont have a Flame and Inferno and want a tracker and better keyer than them get these 2 software you wont need a Discreet advanced system)
AE with Automatic duck or combustion or shake what ever you prefer.
If you need high end color correction try color finnesse plug in for FCp or use FinalTouch
maybe with a Tangent controller if incase you need to go gradingThis is my leathle system of choice
Spend this it is lot more cheaper and you can afford to buy 2 ferraris and couple of beatles for your children and keep some money in Bank to pay interest for your next purchase
discreet system expensive not worth & expensive to maintain.
cheers

April 10, 2006 at 2:01 pmWouldn’t a Multibridge Extreme be some-what overkill?
A Kona LHe would do fine, alsomst all the SD/HD analog and digital i/o you can ask for. However:
– No SD > HD UPCONVERSION
– No Dual Link HDOr perhaps a Kona 3 if you’re going all digital
