FWIW, I didn’t take it that way. You’re right about the Pegasus being the better choice. You were also right to point out the SAN vs. 5D thing.

Bob’s right about questioning the Drobo… I personally think it’s popularity was due to Larry Jordan’s early review when it looked like a cheap alternative to some things. I’m not saying it’s bad, just that I think it’s brand awareness might be exceeding it’s overall value.

And whoever said it was best as a backup device is also right IMO.

All around, I think everyone’s advice here was pretty spot on.

I’ve learned to look at the footage carefully, since I’m asked to integrate a lot of stuff, who’s origin I’m unaware of. If it’s a consumer cam, I can bet it’ll be running 110 IRE and need some fixing.

I also find a lot of that going on, because so much content goes straight to the web, where as much as I hate to accept it, it probably doesn’t matter as much.

In addition, a lot of younger people frankly, don’t know how to use scopes. When I taught for 5-1/2 years, I was surprised to see how many had either not heard of them, or didn’t understand their importance. I’m not suggesting that’s the case with you Bill as I certainly know that you do know how to use them quite effectively…

Perhaps you played a part in this? Maybe all this discussion out in “the daylight” got someone to lift the ban early?

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans believe everything that Biff and Bambi say in the media. Never mind that Biff and Bambi know nothing about anything they’re reporting on.

I spend time talking to a lot of younger people and I’m amazed at how little they know about anything. It doesn’t matter what current event, they have half the information if I’m lucky, and forget knowing anything about any history before their birth.

I asked one young guy wearing a Che Guevara Shirt “Where do you get a T-Shirt with a mass murderer on it”? His response was “what?”. He knew absolutely nothing about Che, he just bought it because it was in his words “a fashion statement”. When I gave him a history lesson (both sides) he was speechless.

This last week at the pub, a guy who lived in South Africa was filling in the blanks on the other side of Nelson Mandela. I could tell that everyone at the table hadn’t heard any of this. They only knew the fairytale version of Mandela’s life. I appreciate many things about Mandela, but I also knew the other side of him.

I think knowing things help you to appreciate them more…

At the risk of repeating myself from another thread, that is exactly what they’re doing with the third party TB2 disk arrays. I think I see a pattern here…

Just read the release on how Apple is now selling the Sharp 4K monitor. In it, they mention the Mac Pro being released as early as the 16th.

Maybe we should get a calendar and mark the days that the Mac Pro WON”T be released… might take less time…
