Hi Jeremy,
WOW! What a good fix. So is the easy setup also sort of an import setting for clips? Your solution worked perfectly for the stereo sound, but I’m still having the same problems with the 5.1. Any ideas?

November 18, 2009 at 9:37 pm in reply to: Final Cut Export finishes without the full movie!I would also check your system settings and make sure you don’t have “limit capture/export file segment size” checked. Also, make sure that you have enough room on your scratch disk and that the “minimum allowable free space” setting is set to a proper size.
The exporting in sections fix is a great one and I have used it in the past. This way you’ll know if it’s a ‘corrupt clip’ that’s causing the error which can happen.
You really don’t lose any quality if you are using prores especially if your deliverable is a DVD or something like that.

November 18, 2009 at 9:28 pm in reply to: FCP keeps quitting with an unexpected error?Does it allow you to open the project at all? Does this happen with other FCP projects on your computer?
I would try creating a new project and copy and pasting everything from your current project’s browser into your new project. It may be a corrupt project file.
Does it give you an error message or just “quite unexpectedly”

Hi,
Your source footage is excellent. How did you guys come up with the DV25 deliverable? Is this what the news station requested or just what you’ve been sending them in the past?
I would also ask them to be specific about what looks bad with the video quality.
By the way DV/NTSC is the same as DV25.

Hi Samantha,
The first question to answer would be why your video stutters in quicktime.
My guess is it’s your render files. Check to see if the video stutters in your FCP timeline on playback.
Even if it doesn’t I would force a rerender by turning on and off your visibility light (green light with a film strip in the upper left of the timeline). When you do a message will pop up telling you that you have to rerender, try that.
Also try “export using compressor” in FCP 6 or in FCP 7 “send to, compressor”.

December 22, 2007 at 1:02 am in reply to: Three Rants; ProRes, Master clips, and Smooth camI tried that and but I’m not sure how it works. What is does is make a bunch of master clips – great, but what’s the work flow? Make master clips while looking at seq (a) but while in Project (b)? When a seq from project (a) is pasted into seq from project (b) will it relink to the newly created master clips or will it relink to the unnamed master clips that already exist in project (b). When the option to modify masterclips poped up I chose for the already exisiting master clips in project (b) to be updated using the info from (a) IE clip name and comments but no success. Is this a bug?
I’m dealing with maybe 200 clips that are neatly aranged in many bins. Create masterclips dumps them into one bin.

I’m afraid I have to agree with the previous reply.
You may want to try the “Space Designer” filter in Sound Track. Click the Advanced Peramiter then select the “show Presets In the right corner. Under the Factory presets you maybe able to remove the echo by changing the type of room that you are in.
Good Luck!
