December 13, 2012 at 6:02 pm in reply to: Long (5-6 minute) Title Crawl

This happens to me. I highlight the clip in the timeline, go up to the viewer and change the time in the viewer window at the top left. Make it any length you want. Then go back to the timeline and you can stretch out the title crawl clip. Always thought it was a boris quirk.

Also, if the title crawl is very long, you can split the clip into two titles which is more manageable. Sometimes if I am editing in native XDCAM the title will scroll backwards if it is too long. YOu can overlap the clips in the timeline so the break between the two is unoticeable.

[Rafael Amador] “[Sascha Engel] ” But I assume the learning curve of Shake is rather steep. ”
Not for such simple task. Is just like applying a filter and setting the size you want.”

I finally found a copy of Shake and have quickly browsed the manuals, online tutorials, etc. Is there a specific section of Shake I should focus on in order to teach myself how to compress our footage for DVD?

Play the VHS tapes and burn a DVD on a deck such as our Pioneer.

Log and capture the VHS tapes to FCP on mac.

Play the VHS tapes using a small but sharp monitor. Videotape that with your HD camera.

Duplicate or copy the sequence, blade out what you don’t want and export the new modified sequence.

[Rafael Amador] “Compressor is pure shit, but give a try to SHAKE.”

From what I understand, Apple made Shake and discontinued the software. Is there a way to download Shake now?

Can you reposition the textup credits so the render moves them to the right place?

FCPX is the only FCP program taught at the SVA film and video department in NYC. The dept. seems convinced apple is eventually going fix the major mistakes made with FCPX . The number of Avid classes has increased somewhat.

I edit XDCAM HD 422 in FCP 6.06. We have a Sony PMW 500. I copy the files off the SXS card to my hard drive using XDCAM Browser. Then I open XDCAM Transfer and import the clips which makes the .mov file which I then import into my sequence, letting FCP set the sequence settings. So far so good. *knocks on wood*

I know. Hence the pessimism and annoyance.
