From your vague description, i bet they want you to demonstrate your skills so they know tha you can ACTUALLY use AE and can use it fast.

someone can put a 30 second bumper on their demo reel that they took 4 months to work on and it could be the greatest thing ever. But who has 4 months to work on a 30 second bumper? And, who knows if you were not on message forums asking everyone else how to do what you wanted to do?

i think they just want to make sure you can do what you say you can do and know how to do it in a quick manner.

so if you can. don’t sweat it.

actually i think i was wrong. i think it has to do with the video card.

I switched my avid layout so that the video monitors and the timeline are on the left screen and my bins are on the right.

i think this was confusing my video card, a Nvideia Quadro FX500. i think it wanted to play videos on the right monitor, not the left, and then when i switched my avid layout it caused it to hang up.

does anyone know about this occuring??

i import the 720×540 with 601 profile and it is a pixel or 2 different than the 720×540 resized to 720×486 and imported with the 601 profile.

but if you put the 720×540 cirlce in avid, it will also still look circular with the 601 setting. right?
