That seems rather inefficient as an option. Thank you for the answer but I find it surprising that software plugin like this does not have an easier alternative to be temporarily removed.

I will see how well we can edit the sequences in draft preview mode as rendering directly in premiere, even small sequences, is taking a lot of time.

If anyone has found a solution to this, perhaps a faster encoding format for preview or a feature in Premiere not well known, please let me know.

  • Thanks. That’s very unfortunate that this is happening as I modified the audio for almost half of our film already with the corrected aif file. I will be changing to the converted wav file from this point and hopefully there will be no more mess ups.

    June 16, 2010 at 11:02 pm in reply to: CS5 Timeline’s in CS4

Ok that’s the only one we didn’t try yet. We have tried EDL but things like transitions and opacity (levels and blends) were not coming through. We tried AAF, a little better but some video was getting mixed up and showing the wrong footage in the wrong places.

I’m thinking we eventually will upgrade his system to CS5 once we know all the plugins he uses work for it. But for now, we can only hope that the XML format works.

Will let you know the results but thanks a lot.

This seems to be what I’m looking for. Thanks a lot man. Still don’t understand why the quicktime option by itself does not have the ability to save in HD though.

  • Alright. What video card would you recommend for Premiere editing at full screen?

Never mind. I found that once you ‘place’ an image, and then right click on its layer, you will see an option to replace image…

Hope this helps anyone else who would want to know.
