  • Best way to bring 60i down to 24p

Hi, I have a clip in HDV 60i and I would like to bring it down to 24p and allow it to retain movement of camera and characters smoothly.

What are some ways anyone here has accomplished it?

try dvfilm.com their DVFilmMaker 24p software is absolutely awesome. I did a 60i shoot for a 24p documentary and it really does pass completely for 24p if done properly and maintains the perceivable resolution. Not sure you can maintain the “smoothness characteristics as 24p is inherently juddery compared to interlace formats.

If you are interested in seeing a sample, here is a link to an HD 24p sample from the dv film maker, theses interviews were shot 60i on a Sony HVR Z1U that has terrible 24p, so we decided to use the software to convert it to 24p. it was shot 1080i converted to 1080 24p for edit and mastering then down rezed to 720p for Web HD viewing.
