April 23, 2011 at 3:48 pm in reply to: Change Parent directory using trimmed R3D: Possible?Resolve DOES search in the RDC subfolders – I have recently relinked 2 parts each of 450 cuts of R3Ds from local RAID to the same structure but located on the remote server – but you should carefully select holding SHIFT key all the files at the media pool browse page, right click, chose change parent directory and enter following
old string: /Volumes/RAID1/RED_SOURCES_OLD/
new string /Volumes/RAID1or_whatever/WHATEVER/WHATEVER/REDSORCESNEW/I’m not sure about slash at the end – you can experiment, but first try to relink to unmodified file at the different folder, if succeed – try trimmed version.

April 23, 2011 at 3:21 pm in reply to: Change Parent directory using trimmed R3D: Possible?I’m not sure, but if you conform using Camera timecode, and redcine did not destroy it – you can just change the parent directory. If you conformed using Absolute timecode – it should be screwed when you trim red file. And I’m not sure about what will happen with edge timecode – you can check it using clipfinder.

In terms of productivity – no, 448 cuda cores against 480. But 480 produces so much heat and needs so much power – I wouldn’t recommend putting it inside mac pro – only hackintosh with at least 850W power supply and many-many additional airblowers or watercooler.

You can have it. Here it is:
https://cgi.ebay.com/Nvidia-GeForce-GTX-480-Apple-Mac-Pro-FERMI-CUDA-/330546351025?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item4cf6190bb1#ht_1319wt_1141this is reflashed PC card, it works in Mac Pro with Quadro OSX drivers, but needs external power
and this gtx470 will work with existing power supply in mac pro
P.S. Actually I didn’t test those cards, and can’t advertise or advise them, but I’m going to purchase and test gtx470.

And You can add mark at the first frame of each chunk as well ).

For two days got a lot of errors, system was unable to complete rendering 45 minutes long RED timeline without breaking file and reporting error. Rolled back to CUDA 3.2 – everything works, no errors. Decklink driver – 8.

Made a sequence which didn’t take too much cpu and needs a lot of gpu with corrections from 4 to 6 nodes with different things – blur, key, correction

I will try soon and report here about 470 in mac pro.
My 480 (alone) is twice as fast as gtx285+gt120 at mac pro.
