Change from auto, and choose “clip” as your choice for Angles. Otherwise it will try to sync by camera.
This is meant to sync DSLR cameras. The nice part about the Angle option is that it chooses “camera” by default, so if you have 2 cameras say a Video Camera and a DSLR even though you may be syncing something like 5 clips (4DSLR and 1 Video Camera Stream) you only have 2 camera angles.
I ran into this problem when I was trying to multcam a music video shot with 2 cameras, we did multiple takes and it gave me only 2 angles, but sync’d them up. I then choose Clips and it then sync’d all 16 takes/angles.
Hope that helps.

I dont have a video tutorial for it, I can make one in the next few days. But what you have to do is stack your two video tracks on top of each other, and apply the effect to the top layer. The flicker amount slider adjusts how fast the flicker is. Everything else can be left alone and it will create your desired effect.

January 6, 2012 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Blending Modes Do Not Work When Transition is AddedA trick I found that has worked for me if I need to use a transition, is take what ever clips you want to use with a transition (it doesn’t matter what type of transition) and create a compound clip with those clips, then add your transitions. (Do not add a transition to nothing, it will create the transition going from black to your clip, put in a slug beforehand [option+w] it inserts a gap) then you can back out of your compound clip and choose a blend mode and your transitions still works.
I created a cheat sheet so you can see how it is supposed to be set up.

The issue where your video looks as if it was pulled to the upper left corner, I have seen this when you are working with compressed footage. Usually if you work with HDV it can get kind of funky, it shouldn’t but if you add alot of effects or transitions with compressed footage you can have some weird things happen.
If you are working with compressed footage after you trash your render files, I would suggest either transcoding and finish your work using proxies or at least transcode the footage to ProRes422

HVX200 the tape deck is only for DV not HDV that the z5u shot in. You need an HDV camera (Not JVC’s 720 HDV format) but either a canon or a sony HDV camera to play back that tape.
Once you get an HDV camera or deck to play back the tape you have you can easily go to easy set up and choose HDV, then 1080p30 as your preset. Then use normal Log and Capture.
