The error message references audio. Is this the same .dav file from your post below? The audio from it may be in a troublesome format. Right click on the file in the Project Window and choose Properties…copy/paste the results here.

The problem was with Firefox, IE works fine.

The form on your web page has an issue. An error message says the “Subject” line is missing, even though it has an entry.

I suspect your concern may be a Black Magic issue. Try importing the clip into a Premiere DV or HDV project and use the Fast Color Corrector.

When you choose File>Import, the “Files of Type” drop down menu at the bottom of the Import window should be set to “All Supported Files”, not .wma.
Legal issues aside (I am not a lawyer), using I Tunes songs requires using I Tunes to burn a Red Book audio CD. Then you can use Windows Media Player or whatever to “Rip” the song as a supported file…wma or wav.
The other alternative is to Play the song in I Tunes and record the playback in an app like Audition. -
I experimented by exporting a split clip with a blank space in the middle…as millions+. Put the new uncompressed clip on V2 over a background…nothing coming thru.
Repeated the experiment with an empty title in the blank space and that does contain an alpha channel. -

Maybe this will help:
If you’ve got Encore CS3 installed , copy the file ad2ac3dec.dll from the Encore CS3 directory and paste it into the PPro CS3 root directory. Once you restart CS3, you’ll be able to import the file with the audio. This means if you’ve already have a project with the files imported, you’ll need to remove the files from the project and then re-import them, or just start over with a new project. -
I cant get it to work. I dont think Premiere recognizes a blank spot as an alpha channel. I had to put a blank title in the blank space and then it worked.

It is likely that the audio is Dolby and not editable. There are other pitfalls with your workflow. The best method is to play the DVD from a stand alone player to a Analog/Digital converter or DV camcorder and then via firewire capture in Premiere.

Jon is correct. It is the operating system that supports capture and device control, not the NLE. Microsoft supports DirectShow and Apple does QT. Never the 2 shall agree.
