Both Premiere and Encore use the same encoder, but the default settings may be way different. Try this in Premiere;
1. In the Export Settings window, click the video tab and change the Quality slider to 5.
2. Change the Bitrate Encoding to CBR and the Bitrate to 8 mbps. This will force 8 mbps.
3. Most important, deselect Deinterlace in the Output Module (upper left corner). This will prevent reducing the resolution by half. -
There are many screen capture apps that can create video from an area of your screen. I use Camtasia but it is kinda expensive. I have used Hypercam…inexpensive.

Play with Windows Media Player and then press Alt+Enter (shortcut for full screen).

The easiest thing to TRY is copy paste the VOB files from the DVD to your hard drive, change the file extension to .mpg and import them into Premiere. Expect trouble in lots of forms. The disc must be finalized to do this and is no longer reusable.
The surest bet is to play the DVD in the camcorder to an A/D converter or a DV camcorder via composite cables and then capture in Premiere via Firewire. -
Audio is likely going to your deck or camera. In the Program window click on the “Output” button and then Playback Settings and then choose “Desktop Audio”.

Sounds like your source video is mono audio which only goes into the 4th track. Also your video is of smaller resolution than your project settings. You can right click on the video in the timeline and choose “Scale to frame size”, but that will cause the quality to dive.

Your question is best answered in about an hours worth of lessons, tutorials or reading the Help file, but here is the 30 second version;
1. With your title on the timeline, select it and position the CTI at the first frame of the title.
2. Click the word Motion and the Toggle Animation icon in the Effects Control palette.
3. Click anywhere in the Program window and position (drag) the title to the starting position.
4. Move the CTI to the last frame of the title and reposition it again.
5. Test drive -
Microsoft DV.AVI and Microsoft AVI with no compression can exceed 4 GB, although there are few good reasons to do either…why do you want to?
