That is possible, but the grey Burn button indicates you have no blank media in your DVD burner.
A work-around would be to have Premiere output to folder the VIDEO_TS folder, then use your burning app to “Record VIDEO_TS”.Video Bitrate should be 7 mbps CBR, audio will be 1.2 mbps by default.

Cannot you encode your FCP project as Mpeg 2 for DVD, burn that raw file (less than 4 GB) to a dvd and then author that in Encore?
This will involve maybe 30 minutes wasted time and one blank DVD. -
How about some hardware specs including any capture cards. Have you updated Video and audio card drivers recently? If not update them.
Also what Windows OS…32 or 64 bit.
I would be thinking about adding a new HD and loading a fresh install of Windows and Adobe, this will give you a dual boot PC. -
If your source was HD, HDV or AVCHD then the time to render is normal. If you chose noise reduction or some other computationally challenging effect, then it is normal.

After setting the time remapping key frame, drag the right half of the keyframe to the right while holding the Ctrl key down.
The Alt modifies the process for stopping motion.

Maybe…maybe not. Copy one at a time from Premiere CS3’s plug-in folder into the CS4 plug-in folder and try it.

Your hard drives are way too full…they cant be defragged properly, especially with large video files and they run very slow when they are over 80% full.
Suggest getting your system drive down to less than 50% full and insure no scratch discs are set to it and defrag it. Then get an external drive to store most of the files you have on the other 250 GB drives. Defrag them and put your project folder on them.

Most folks do and think just like you…both suites work fine on the same PC. Finish your existing projects in 3 while tinkering with 4.

The problem is you expected things to work right out of the box. Change your attitude and you should be able to capture just fine.
1. If you shot in HDV AND want to capture in HDV you must have the camera set to HDV AND have “Down convert” turned off AND be in a HDV Project preset.
2. If you shot in HDV and want to capture as DV, set the camera to DV mode and turn on “Down Convert” on and be in a DV Project Preset.
3. If you shot in DV mode make sure the camera is in DV mode AND you are in a DV Project preset.
