There are several popular codecs like Dvix and Xvid that Pro cannot edit. You could use VirtualDub to decompress or recompress into another format, like Indeo or Cinepak.

This has been discussed ad-nauseum… export from PP as Jpegs and use those in Pro to create video…
Camtaisa 2.1 plugs into PP and can export as an .avi, but results are often poor. -
A bit confused…you said 5 minute test video…and then 58 MB??
Also try changing the Field Order to Lower.

Your video is stepped on…several times.
Microsoft DV degrades badly after 2 generations, especially the graphics. I use the Main Concept DV codec, about $50 for this type of work. -

What codec is you source video?? 52.8 MB is about 15 seconds?? 32 bit indicates it is uncompressed, but very low quality (3.6 mbs). How was this video clip created…export settings?? -
Is your source DV? What export settings did you choose?

What are the properties of your source video? What are your Project settings? I suspect they dont match.
