Your file is not HD, but a cut down SD file. The big problem is that the video compressor is Xvid and not supported by Premiere.
You may have luck using VirtualDub to make a dup using another codec.
Premiere Elements 2.0 is supposed to be able to open all codecs installed on your system. -
Premiere can read Quicktime DV providing QT player is installed.

From Premiere’s menu bar; File: Get Properties for (and select that HD file).

Quicktime without Soreson Professional codec is much poorer than Windows media or Real.

Turning off the little speaker icon works…at least on OHCI systems. Do you have Canopus/Decklink/Matrox capture card installed?

Is your movie 1 hour or 1 minute long? Do you have Sorenson Professional codec installed on your system? (Installed with Squeeze)?

Premiere and I believe other Adobe apps does not sort files with numbers in the name like Windows does. This seems to occur when the number of digits in the file name is not consistent.

If you used “Clip Volume” rubber bands to adjust volume, the above suggestion will work fine…just set in and out points in the timeline and use the Extract command to remove the selection and ripple delete all tracks to the left.
If you used the audio mixer write feature, you will have to re-write ALL keyframes for the entire sequence! -
Are you using proprietry hardware and their transitions? Or Canopus Explde/Boris FX??

Premiere is going to make 2 files, one video and the other audio. Encore will further compress the .wav file into .a3c.
Use the bitrate encoder table that Tim gave in the previous post. Your .m2v file file must be below 3.9 GB to leave room for a bit of Dolby audio.
