You can easily convert your file system to NTFS. Move all the files to another drive, then in My Computer, right click on the drive and choose Format. Select NTFS as the file system and also Quick Format.

Image and track mattes in a superiour track both create an area of transparency in a video clip in a track below. Your choice in the Effect settings for the image matte are to use Luma or Alpha. I typically use Luma. Create an image (720 x 480) pure white (255,255,255). Add a pure black (0,0,0) shape to the image, export as a .gif. Premiere will use the black area to create the transparency, typically in Video 2, allowing Video 1 to show thru… Apply the track matte effect to Video 2, not the track matte in Video 3.

Assuming you are using a generic OHCI firewire capture, you may have FAT 32 as the file system for your target drive. This will limit your capture to about 18 minutes. In My Computer, right click on that drive and choose Properties. What file system does it show?

I think the Home and End keys are finnaly working correct in 2.0. The Page Up and Page Down keys navigate between edit points ending on the first frame of a clip regardless of what track or clip is selected.

Try at test;
Copy/paste a video file about 100MB between drives. It should take about 3-4 seconds. -
Levels or now Curves would be the choice to increase contrast…but less is better!

What Project Setting preset did you choose? the DV.avi files that came off the camcorder, were they captured with PP 2.0? Did you remove an old capture card like Storm or Pro One?

With the levels effect you are analyzing ONE frame and then changing luma values for every frame in the clip BY THE SAME AMOUNT. If there is any changes to lighting during the scene, those frames might be changed too much or too little.
Try it and preview every frame. -
Dropping frames is typically a hardware issue, but if you can still capture fine using PP 1.5, your PC might just be underpowered for 2.0 which consumes about 500 MHZ more CPU power than 1.5.
I can capture fine using a 2.8 P4 HT PC.
Are all virus/spyware scanners turned off?
Is your disc less than 75% full and defragged?
Are you trying to capture to an external device? -
For thnigs to work, Windows must “see” both the 1394 card and your camcorder. Open Device Manager…is the “IEEE 1394 Bus host controller” listed? Any yellow !!!?
With the camcorder plugged in and turned on…is there anything listed under “Imaging Devices”?
