DVD burning with Premiere seems dicey on many PCs. The workaround is to choose the “Folder” option and then use whatever burning app you have to burn the Video_TS folder to a black.

Premiere 2 has DVD menu authoring…use one of many templates or use your own background. It has motion menus for backgrounds or buttons, music for menus but nor quite all the options that Encore does, especially Dolby audio.
You begin by adding DVD markers to the sequence (menu, scene and stop) and then choose Window>DVD Layout to begin. -
If Windows Media player can play the clips, you have the codec installed on your system. Premiere is just not going to be able to edit them.
Best bet is to play the video from the Samsung camera through an analog/digital converter and capture the stuff as DV. Many DV camcorders can convert on the fly (analog in>DV out). -
Installing a new HD requires it be formated. Windows might recognize the new HD on start up and walk you through a Wizard to format (choose quick format) it. Then you can copy/paste files to it.

Editing will degrade the clip a bunch, but you can “chop it up” using a free utility from MS that cames with Windows Media Encoder 9 (free). It’s called
Windows Media File Editor. -
Draging keframes up and down?
Expand the height of the audio track when doing this. This gives more precise control of the Db levels. -
Yes I get about 2 refreshes of the timeline and then the waveform fails to draw completely. Suspect this is a power or video card issue.
My pet peeve is that the waveform does not update with volume changes to the clip. -
The Mpeg encoder will handle the 640 to 720 thingy OK. It exports 2 elementary streams, one video (.m2v) and a AUDIO (.wav). That combination is what most authoring apps look for.

In the process of installing Pro 2.0, I copied the .prm plug-ins from 1.5 plug-in folder into 2.0. All my plug-ins work in 2.0 except Aspect HD.
