  • Should I use the mpeg encoder? Encoding problem.

I recently shot some footage with a cheap sony camcorder (640×480, 30fps) and ive already finished the compositing, 3D work, and effects that I added to the footage. Now I want to burn this footage to a DVD. How should I render out the final footage? Should I use the mpeg encoder? I tried it once, but there was no audio? I think maybe I might need to find the AC-3 codec to hear it, but I am uncertain.

What is the proper way to do this? The footage is not 720×480, so do I need to fix that in the advanced settings for the mpeg encoder?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Adobe Premiere 6.5.

    Thanks

The Mpeg encoder will handle the 640 to 720 thingy OK. It exports 2 elementary streams, one video (.m2v) and a AUDIO (.wav). That combination is what most authoring apps look for.
