Might be a conflict of hard drive demanded to deliver video and audio at the same time and the files are badly fragmented at that point on the platters. Defrag hard drives and if still a problem, delete peek files and change the Preference scratch disc for that to another hard drive. Premiere is playing 2 files (video and peek audio), Media Player is playing just one .avi.

No, but you can create a new “Style” in the titler with all the properties of your new colored font and open each title, select the text and click the New Style you created to change color.

The Fast Color Corrector is a great tool! Begin with the White Ballance function to correct both clips, that should bring colors pretty close. You may need to desaturate (HSL) one clip to complete the correction.

There is no magic bullet solution. I would use the Levels effect (not auto levels) to bring the luminace of one clip up just a bit and the other clip down just a bit.

After defragging all drives, I would do a test…copy/paste a file about 100 MB from each drive to the other…should take 2-3 seconds.

Version 7 had many bugs, but you should be able to export as Mpeg 2 (DVD) and use that file for Nero…better picture than going thru WMV and quicker.

Adding chapter markers in Encore, automatically renumbers all the markers. But the chapter marker number system does not interfere with the actual chapter order as you can link them in any order to the menu buttons.
