The problem is that you did not install the software in the correct order, like was listed. You need to install the Blackmagic drivers last.

Since you have CC installed, simply uninstall the BMD drivers, reboot, and re-install the BMD drivers. That should fix it

1. For some reason, the “reverse” is greyed out in the Speed/Duration option for rolls, I’m not sure why. Sapphire makes an effect called “ReverseClip” which does what you want.

2. Throw a crop on the Roll.

When dealing with DVDs, I use the program VOB2MPG, which converts the entire DVD into one MPEG file. I then rename that file to whatever, and import it into PPro.

If you plan on going with a USB 3.0 version of the Shuttle, you should be fine.

Also, make sure to use the newest USB 3.0 drivers directly from Intel, not from Asus.

I’ve personally had good luck with several laptops from Asus (the G53, G74, and G55). My G55 also has a Thunderbolt port, which works fine also with the Mini-Recorder.

We also have a Dell Optiplex tower that we put an internal USB 3.0 card in, and it works fine also.

The key is how the USB 3.0 chipset is implemented by the manufacturer. I’ve gotten lucky that Asus does it correctly.

The Intensity Pro and the Intensity Shuttle are basically the same, they both accept analog and HDMI inputs, though one is an internal card, and one is external (via USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt).

Since I travel quite a bit, I have to edit on a laptop, hence the external version.

EDIT: btw, I’m running Win 7 also.

I’m pretty sure it still does. I’m currently using the Ultrastudio USB 3.0, Shuttle USB 3.0, and Mini-Recorder Thunderbolt with CC, and they all work fine.

Note, don’t use the newest drivers from Blackmagic, they’re screwed up. Most use version 9.5.

I use PPro CC (and CS6) and my clips are seamless when put on the timeline.

If all else fails, I guess you could use the software that came with the camera, I believe it’ll merge the clips into one large clip.

First, don’t use Focus-Assist while you’re recording, as the result of using it will show up on your recording. Basically, when you turn on FA, it opens the iris all the way.

Also, my suggestion would be to position yourself at least 50 feet from the stage. This way, after you first focus (zoom all the way in, focus on something, then frame your shot), you shouldn’t have to make too many adjustments throughout the recital.
