  • Wow, that was almost exactly 8 years ago, I don’t even remember asking the question. One thing I have learned is that Illustrator changed a lot after version 8, and if you are having trouble with a file try saving it as an Illustrator 8 file. Good luck!

    Is this still the case with CC15? I’m having the same problem, and following these steps isn’t helping the default behavior. I’m on a Mac running OS 10.9.5.

    That’s very generous of you to offer, I’ve got a local pal doing that for me right now. The OS was a clean install on a cleanly wiped SSD about a month ago, and CC was installed around the same time. Everything has been fine until this one file showed up, then my attempts to troubleshoot somehow made it worse. I probably will follow that advice though, as soon as I am able.
