As Don said, select everything you want to lock together. This may involve clicking the first event and then shift-clicking the rest of them, one at a time. Then group them.

Here’s a reply direct from Sony on the Vegas forum:
For both Decklink and Aja, ONLY SDI capture and print to tape is supported. Analog capture or print to tape is not supported and quite likely willl not work at all (or if it does there may be serious problems).
Component video monitoring from either card IS supported.
We understand that there are still a lot of BetaSP decks out in the field and reccomend the Convergent boxes for capture and print to tape for SP and other analog decks.

Are you using USB or firewire when you try to capture?

Sorry Richard but I’ve never tried dual layer discs so I’m not sure what’s going on.
I did google DVD Shrink error log and got several hits so I’d suggest going that route.
Another concern I noted was the use of good media. A number of folks had similar problems. A simple switch to good media solved their problems.As far as an error log, maybe they’re talking about the Application log in Event Viewer or the System log.

Use DVDA to render the files into AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders and save them to a folder on your hard drive.
Then run DVD Shrink on the folder.I don’t claim to understand the technical details of it’s workings.
There’s a website somewhere that goes into detail on this but I didn’t bother to bookmark it 🙁
All I know is that it does what it does quite well.
Try it and see if it meets your expectations. -
The bitrate calculator I use gives a VBR of 7500/4300/2500 for a 4 hr. video. I’d drop these numbers a bit for a safety margin.
Another option is, since you already have a rendered version, to use DVD Shrink (google it, it’s free and a great tool) to bring it down to the proper size.

Roger, I still suggest that you use one of my original suggestions and that’s to do a print-to-tape of the project from Vegas. Have FCP import it and then create the DVD.

Gary, I’ve opened Vegas Mpeg2 files in other programs as well.
Never tried it on a Mac though so maybe that’s a problem?His initial post sounded like he wanted to be able to use the MainConcept encoder in FCP.
I’m not sure though as he was somewhat vague which is why I asked for clarification. -

Do you want to make the DVD using FCP or Vegas?
The MainConcept encoder in Vegas is specific to Vegas so, if you’re thinking that you can use it in FCP, you’re mistaken. -
mpg2 is a delivery format, not an editing format. Either render a DV-AVI or do a print-to-tape and have FCP import it.
