This is Vegas so there’s more than one way to do what you want.
The easiest is to to enable Auto Ripple by clicking on the toolbar icon and dragging event E (what Vegas calls a segment or a clip) to the left. This will bring everything else along with it. Make sure that you have the appropriate option (Affected Tracks, Affected Tracks, Bus Tracks, Markers, and Regions, or All Tracks, Markers, and Regions) selected in the crop down box next to this tool. Be sure to disable this option immediately after rippling ot it may mess you up without you realizing it. Been there, done that 🙂
This can also be done with keyboard shortcuts. F, Ctrl+F and Ctrl+Shift+F are the appropriate commands.
The online help menu goes into this in greater detail so I suggest looking at it for clarification. -
Vegas has had the ability to shuffle events as far back as version 7, maybe earlier but 7 is the oldest on my computer.
Right-click and drag an event to a new location on the timeline.
From the shortcut menu, choose Shuffle Events. -

Rich, the sales prices are definitely a great deal.
When RX3 came out, I took a long look at the differences between the two.

The Deverb module really interested me but I decided that, given the limited number of times I might need it, it wasn’t worth the extra dollars.
I know a few other members on here have this software so I hope that they will jump in with their opinion. -
I wholeheartedly agree. It’s been my go to repair tool for a few years now. The word magic has been used to describe just how good this software is.
I only have the RX version so you need to decide if you want to spend the extra money on the advanced version. It does come with several more features but, as you say, the price is be a factor.
It’s a standalone product but you can set it as your default audio editor in Vegas so that all you do is select an audio event, right click and choose “open copy in iZotope”.

Volume envelope is what you’re looking for.
Click the audio to select it and press the V key to display the line.
Double click the line twice at the start and end of each section to add points and then drag the area between the 2nd and 3rd points up or down as needed. -

In addition to the sales/marketing folks, there will be three Vegas programmers manning the NAB booth next week, including me. I hope to meet many of you there, and talk about the new (and old) features of Vegas.
What the soundbites don’t say is that we’ve fixed a HUGE number of stability bugs since Vegas 12 was first released in September 2012. Many of those fixes are already present in VP12 b770, since we don’t hold back bugs for new releases. For those of you who have called for stability before features, I hope that you’ll really love VP13 and notice that we’ve been listening.
If you do have stability problems with VP12 or VP13, please do send us your reports via the ErrorReporter, with comments about anything you can think of related to the crash. We do read those comments, and I personally tend to prioritize the crashes that have comments before the ones without.
Along these lines, we’ve made a noteworthy upgrade for VP13 that hopefully will be largely invisible to you: we’re using a much newer C++ compiler and we’re using .NET4. Both of those make it much easier to diagnose crash reports (plus, they’ve given Vegas a modest but measurable speed boost). A group of beta testers have been very helpful in identifying glitches with that upgrade so hopefully it will be seamless for the rest of you when VP13 hits the streets.

I had never heard of an EVO file either so I googled it and here’s what I found.
High definition video file from an HD DVD disc; stores the movie’s main audio/video data; similar to a .VOB file on a standard DVD; can be played by various PC video playback programs.
A utility called EVODemux (it’s everywhere so google for it from your favourite site) is supposed to be able to extract video, audio and subtitles from HD-DVD.
I’ve never used it so good luck. -
Nigel already explained why good lenses cost so much. A typical lens for a good ENG-style camera can cost as much or more than the camera itself ($10,000 or more). When you enter the high end broadcast world, the price goes up drastically. For example, the Canon DIGISUPER 100 which is a 100:1 zoom lens (uses would be professional sports for example), the cost is in the area of $200,000.00
