I trust that you’re aware of the fact that Premiere (like all Adobe products) has gone to a subscription model and that you can no longer buy any of their products, only rent them on a monthly basis.
You may want to consider upgrading to Vegas Pro which can be done as cheaply as $224.95 U.S.

There’s no way that I’m aware of at the moment to move it.
More than a few users are upset and all I can suggest is to submit it as a product suggestion. If enough users let Sony know their feelings, they may change it in a future update.

If platinum supports the MXF file format, I highly recommend converting your files to that format instead as it’s a format that Vegas likes and edits very easily.
Failing that, I highly recommend upgrading your software. You’re trying to edit footage from a new(er) camera with old software and that’s not always the right thing to do. The upgrade price is very reasonable. -

You don’t say how big your hard drivers are but my guess is that you don’t have enough free space on either of them for a successful install.
BTW, it’s good practice to install all programs on drive C and no where else. -
The easiest way to test it is to copy the footage to an internal drive. Hopefully you have at least two internal drives. My guess is that your computer is too old to keep up though as I edit a lot of my HD material from external USB 2.0 drives all the time with no issues.

Someone on another forum mentioned a price of $150 for Vegas Pro 13 Edit. Vegas Pro 13 and Vegas Pro 13 Suite will be more but no idea how much more yet as I’m still waiting for the email offer too.

Joel, download and install Wave Agent from Sound Devices. It’s a free utility to allow you to import poly files from professional audio recorders such as the Sound Devices 702, 702T, 722, 744T and 788T recorders.
You will need to register to be able to download it but Sound Devices is a very reputable company.
Once you install it, open it and drop your file(s) on it. There’s an option to Split/Combine. Select this one, choose a folder location and process the file. The result will be a series of WAV files that you can then load into Vegas.

If Home Studio works the same way as Vegas Pro does, you can save presets in the Project Properties window.
Load in a file like you usually do. Once you select it in the Properties window, save it as a preset (for example, My Camcorder).
When you start a new project, load your event, go to the Properties tab and select this preset.
In Vegas Pro, you also have the option (bottom of the Properties window) to Start all new projects with these settings if you want to. -
Barry, I use a JVC HM-750. Like the EX1R (which I’ve used a few times), it shoots in MP4 format which I rewrap to MXF using the free XDCAM EX Clip Browser. I’ve never experienced the issues you’re having. Can you shoot and upload a few seconds of video from your camera for us to test?
