Slideshow length in Vegas Studio 13 platinum
Posted by Simon Apcar on April 3, 2014 at 5:42 amHello:
I’m new to this forum, and will appreciate any help.
I used to be able to adjust the slideshow to the music length, in Vegas Studio 11, by selecting the entire slideshow, create a group, and then by holding the control button, drag the end of the selection to the length where the music ended.
I can’t seem to be able to this in my new Vegas Studio 13.
I tried the “Insert Slideshow” feature, but it’s not user-friendly.
Please help.
Thanks.

April 3, 2014 at 9:26 amYou can still do the same in Movie Studio Platinum 13.
They just made “timeline editing more efficient” by making it more complicated in some instances. Some of the editing tools are now only in the Edit>Editing Tool menu and not in the new toolbar below the timeline. You can use the shortcuts D and Shift+D to switch to the next/previous Editing Tool.
Read also the section on Editing Tool in online Help (F1). -

April 4, 2014 at 2:02 amHello again:
I’m afraid my question was not exactly answered.
Can you please elaborate? I do not think pressing “D” or “Shift+D”
is the whole story.I’m still not familiar with every nuance of the software.
A further help will be very much appreciated:-)
Thanks.

April 4, 2014 at 8:23 amIs it possible that you are using only the Simple Edit Mode?
Go to the Advanced Edit Mode and all is well.
See Main Toolbar. -

April 4, 2014 at 10:26 pmThis does not bode well for VP13 – please don’t let them have messed about with the main GUI structure…

April 5, 2014 at 2:59 amMr Kujbida, thanks for the webinar link, but my answer was not there.
Mr Nippala, I was in advanced mode, but unfortunately all is still not well.
Gentlemen, I’m resigned to install platinum 11 alongside the platinum 13, until I get the answer i’m looking for.
If my very first post is not clear please let me know.
Your efforts to help me is greatly appreciated:-)

April 5, 2014 at 10:00 amSimon, your first post was clear enough. That workflow (not using the Selection edit tool) gives similar stretching/compression for me in VMSP 11 and MSP 13.
Are you sure you’re using the Normal edit tool to Ctrl+drag?
Do you see “Time Stretch” when you hold down the control button at the end of the selection? -

Yes to both questions, however, when I do “ctrl+drag” it does not allow me to drag the grouped selection.
Interestingly, when I do “ctrl+alt+drag”, it only allows me to stretch the end-slide of the group. If this helps any.
Thank you for your prompt responses, and your patience.
Simon
