There are two ways to do this.
#1 is to switch to the Detail View in your Project Media tab. The Use Count column will show you which events are in use.
#2 is to switch to the Edit Details tab (View – Edit Details). Select Events in the Show column and you’ll get a list of everything that’s on your timeline. -

Did you use the Large Tiles option to do this? You’ll need to adjust it to get the correct number of tiles.

I have no problem using the Large Tiles option as described above.

Make sure Deform is before Pan/Crop in the Video Event FX window.

Add the Grate FX (found in the Checkerboard section of the Media Generator tab), lower the Tile Dimensions of the FX as desired and then lower the opacity of the FX to suit your needs.

Try rendering your 1080i 25fps (PAL) clip at 30p and see what you think of the result.

Russ, what do you mean by a hinted movie? DO you need to buy QuickTime Pro to be able to do this?

To be honest Norman, it’s been a while since I had to do it but as I recall, there was very little degradation.

Norman, I’m lucky in that my employer has a site license for the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of tools.
I bring the DVCProHD file into Premiere and render it out as a QuickTime file which Vegas can then read.
You can also load it into Adobe Media Encoder and do the same thing. -

Tim, I wish I could answer your question but I’ve always done things the way I describe so I have no idea if your way would add speed or stability. Hopefully other users will jump in here and offer their experiences.

I prefer to keep all related project material in a single master folder. This is the way I’ve always done it and it works for me as well as making backups much easier.
When I start a new project, I create a master folder under that name. In that master folder are various subfolders such as Project Files, Graphics, Audio, Raw Footage, Renders and whatever else is needed.
If the music or graphics exist elsewhere on my drive, I make a copy of it/them for the project. That way everything is all in one place. -
Mike, that has to be one of the strangest solutions I have ever read on here 🙂
