I feed AC-3 files to DVD Architect all the time and never have any problems with re-rendering.
How long is your video? My rule of thumb is to use a CBR of 8,000,000 if it’s 70 min. or less. Anything longer and I use a bitrate calculator to determine optimum settings. Do a search on this forum for “Mark’s bitrate calculator”. I’ve posted links to it and instructions several times. -

That’s a possibility.
Keep in mind that HD has 6X the video information that SD (what a DVD will give you) does so you will experience some image degradation.
How long is your source video?
The only time I burn from the timeline is if I;m burning DVDs of student productions. Anything I create always gets the custom treatment using DVD Architect and custom renders from Vegas.
My rule of thumb for burning a DVD is to use a CBR (Constant Bit Rate) of 8,000,000 for anything less than 70 min. long.
More than that and I use a bitrate calculator to determine optimum settings.
I always render using BEST mode as that helps with final quality.
Audio is AC-3 at the default rate of 192. -
Try rendering to MXF first and then from there to MPEG.

Look for the backup veg file. It should be in the same folder as the veg file and labeled filename.veg.bak
Move that file to a different folder and rename it by deleting .bak.
Try opening this version. If it does work, save it immediately under a new name in the original location. -

I don’t get a drop down menu like that. What version of Vegas are you using?
The bottom line is that things like this can’t be changed by the user.
Here’s what it looks like when I try that in Pro 12.

To do this to multiple events simultaneously, apply a transition to the first event, click it, hold down the Ctrl button and click on all other desired events and then drop the desired transition on the first event. All selected transitions will now be the same.
