See if this tip from another Vegas user helps. Save it as a preset in Vegas.
Dialog Norm at -31 (this sets it at unity gain)
RF and Line Mode DRC Off (WYHIWYG)
DC High Pass Filter On (this operates at <=3Hz and takes DC bias out of the mix)
Bandwidth Low Pass Filter On (this takes aliasing noise at >20kHz out of the encode, but it also lowered the rendered volume by -0.1dB in my tests)
90 Deg Phase Shift On (makes it easier for Pro Logic decoding on older equipment, Dolby says it is inaudible in 5.1 except in “very rare” cases) -
That option has been in Vegas for as long as I can remember. Definitely during the Sony years and possibly even the Sonic Foundry years.
I agree with Graham about looking elsewhere as a lot of us, me included, get those notifications and no one I know has ever had a problem with them. -

Try the used section of places that deal in such mics. Trewaudio.com is one site that comes to mind. I’ve bought a fair bit of gear from their Toronto store and can highly eecommend them.
Pawn shops and eBay are other possibilities. -
Options – Prefs – Editing. Disable the loop feature.

Amanda, as others have already posted, Vegas is a standalone program so no issues with having multiple versions installed. I have Pro 12, 13 and 14 on my computer with no problems at all 🙂

The only way an audio event (what Vegas calls a clip) has time code is if it was recorded in something called BWAV (broadcast wav) format. This is usually only done in high end (expensive) audio recorders.
