I’m sorry but a Core 2 Duo doesn’t come close to meeting minimum specs for editing HD footage. You need an i7 processor to stand a chance of doing it easily.

The best way is to render to a lossless codec like Lagarith. Google it as it’s free. The drawback is the huge file size but that’s the price you have to pay.

It’s not Sony’s problem to fix. It’s a New Blue issue so open up a support ticket with them. You’ll find that they’re a lot faster to respond than Sony is.

You’re allowed to install Vegas on more than one computer as long as you only run one machine at a time.
If you have a newer version, it wouldn’t make any sense not to have the same version on both machines.If you still want to do it though, fill out the form on the Customer Service page.

Use the combination of Velocity envelopes and compressing it to speed it up 12X.
Save this as a veg file. Lets call it timelapse.veg for this explanation.
Start a new project, import timelapse.veg and add it to the timeline.
To go from 12 to 30 is a factor or 2.5 so add a velocity envelope and set it to 250% (2.5X).
Render it out to the desired format.
Make sure to disable resample each time or things will get very blurry.

Is the external mic, a hand held, a lavaliere or a headset mic?
Are you using the Microsoft audio panel to set things up properly? -
Try copying the event from Pro 12 to Pro 10. If it works, open the FX window and save it. I have my doubts that it will work but it’s worth trying.
