I had intermittent problems with my M2N-SLI ASUS main board, had to return it to factory 3 times for warranty repairs, loaded Vegas several times as result. Now Sony says it has been loaded too many times and refuses to activate it. I tried their website, they no longer use phone contact, but was never able to find someone to talk to. I have a newer version running in my latest build but would like to so equip my older one as backup.

enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.

You’re allowed to install Vegas on more than one computer as long as you only run one machine at a time.
If you have a newer version, it wouldn’t make any sense not to have the same version on both machines.

If you still want to do it though, fill out the form on the Customer Service page.

I’m doing volunteer work that includes very long video recording and editing. Many of my projects run 8 or more hours. Having the ability to work on one machine while video is processing on another would be a great time saver.

I’m not sure what you are referring to. They seem to have plenty of numbers on their contacts page: Contact Customer Service. Make sure you let them know that you are having registration problems. Last time I checked, they don’t charge for helping you with registration. I recently had to re-authorize ACID Pro because of too many installs and they helped me without any problem.
