AVID says in their Press release thet they will “shake up the industry” in feb 2008.

Well here’s what they have to do:

Cut prices 40% across the board.
Add the best of the Pinnacle platform…background rendering…burn a DVD from the timeline…resolution independence for stills.
Add 3rd party hardware support…ie AJA & Blackmagic
    Redesign the 90’s interface.

if they don’t they will be a fond memory in 5 years.

Michael thnks for your replies. The problem was that some of the clips were captured at “Standard” without checking the “A” pulldown once I did that it was smooth!

    Thanks,

After looking at various clips I have noticed that the cadence on some are “normal” and some are “advanced”…any thoughts???

Michael, thanks I am still seeing sligt jaggies on some rapid motion. I guess my question is should I recapture a bad clip and see if that clears it up? And if it does what workflow would you suggest in getting the sequence corrected… edit as is, then decompose?
    Thanks,

Figured it out, go to “easy set up” select HD as format, then select appropiate Blackmagic rate and use.

I have the same problem…I only see a still frame when parked in the timeline. When I play I get a black screen but audio plays fine. HDV footage.

Jake let’s hope so! AVID has been getting alot of neagative press on this one. No way can a $5,000 program charge $1,000 for an upgrade that is marginal at best!
