The smudge tool is known to be a tool with very slow performance. How many pixels does your file have, and do you have slow performance with any other items or just the smudge tool.

I did a review on the book above called “Illustrator CS Killer Tips”, and recomend that.

In summary I usually give books great reviews that do not repeat information from Adobe online help or the manual, but give tips that expert users learn from using the product over many years. That is what this book does! If you are new to Illustrator this bopok might not be for you, and in that case the manual and online help that come with Illustrator are the best.

If you want to learn using hands on tutorials, teh Adobe Classroom in the Book” has crude looking samples, but you will learn.

First you need to know that when you rotate a file in bridge, the change is recorded to an ascii cache file (the file name and amount of rotation). When you open the image in Photoshop the rotation actually happens at that point. So to solve your problem you only need select all your images in bridge, rotate them, then open them and save them.

You u can also in the second column of the actions palette toggle the dialog on/off, by clicking on the icon which looks like a window.

I usually do nto have this problem, because I color balance and save every image immediately after I copy the file from my digital camera.

You should not have gotten such an error. Try naming your layers using alphanumeric charachters and the safe ones such as ()_-. Characters such as the bullet, slash can have adverse effects. You will notice ceratin scripts fail such as layer sets to images.

What platform are you on, and are you connected to a server? Your file should not have disapeared and you may get it back after a few reboots (Had a similar problem in the past, btu it was conenctd to a netware server).

Yeah I brought this up in the CS2 beta. The type >> Smart Punctuation palette does not work correctly. Problem has been around since CS.

You will have to manually go to type >> glyphs, and click on the glyph that has the ” to insert that into your active cursor location.

The font “Universal PI” or “Univ News PI” on PC has a really good inch and foot mark and other types of symbols, you may need.

Draw a circle
Use warp tool (Shift R)and pull over an edge (for melted protrusion)
Rotate a copy 180 and then pathfinder to unite.
Object >> path >> simplify (to smooth out the curve)

Best you can do is

This has been useful to me in the past, so thought you may have a need for

You can then load this color table into a new image. You are limited to 256 colors. It soudns like you are looking for a data list showing each of the colors used in an image and their individual cmyk or rgb breakdown. There is no way to do this except using the info palette and manullay writing down each pixels value by hand.

Do you really need the colors of all the pixels or just a few of them?
