There is not a print open documents command (good idea though), but you can choose file >> automate >> PDF presentation and make a multiple page PDF. You could then print from acrobat a multiple page document.

Look into using the appearance palette. This is the way you can have one vector object, and assign multiple fills strokes etc to one editable object.

The appearance palette is a little tricky to understand because of limited documentation, but once you master this palette you will see why appearance in illustrator is as important as layers are to Photoshop.

I am not exactly sure myself. With every upgrade Adobe changed over more filters to work in both 8-bit and 16-bit mode, not as much progress in changing rgb to cmyk. The problkm does nto bother me since most all my source images are in rgb and I only switch to cmyk at the very end before printing.

You don’t want to change modes form cmyk to rgb and back to cmyk, cause a lot of valuable color information is lost. Images with effects are more fogiving though as they usually make an image look surrealistic in whihc the color does nto have to be accurate to real world objects. You may just need to add some saturation or duplicate the layer adn chaneg the top layer to soft light at about 30% to get some detail back into the image after going back and forth between color modes.

You need to click on the radio button “h” for hue. You are probbaly in one of the other modes mode such as “l” for luminance.

Imageready is best for animated gifs that go to the web (small file sizes). After Effects is best for when you need image quality and effects for your animation. I assume you don’t have after effects since you are going with .gif, as after effects also will do .mov or .avi which has more colors.

Try putting a layer of white at the bottom and flatten all layers at once. The problem is with layer blending modes needing a lyer underneath to blend to, and if you do not have the item in your selection group that the layer is blending to you can get innacurate results.

If that does not work try saving to a phtoshop .pdf. Phothsop .pdfs are great. tehre are many setting, but they are all there such as converting founts to outlines, so you dont have to send the font to the printer. You can later open this .pdf in illustrator, adn will see how shapes and type stay vector quality with the correct settings and hwo all bitmapped layers get flattened to make the file smaller.

The file format I use are dependant upon the situation. If I need transparency then .psd. If I need vector and would like some compression to take down the size of large scale with a little compression(billboard, planes, trade show, posters, banners) than .pdf.

I really find it amazing that Adobe Photoshop layer blending modes are not recognized in Illustrator. Why can Corel Draw place recognize the multiply blending mode of a soft drop shadow, and Illustrator cannot.

Hope to see that CS3 will begin to focus on real world needs people have and stop investing time in small features that do not make the program worth the upgrade price.

Check your Photoshop charachter palette flyout menu to see if you have Faux Italic enabled. Once you use it once, or unintentionally activated this with a keyboard command(happeneded to me once but not sure if CS2 has this key command available) it sticks, and can cause a problem as you are experiencing.

I was able to save and reopen a file that big.

You may want to run Norton Disk Doctor on your drive as you may have some bad blocks (frequent cause of such an error). Disk Utility is already on your Mac, or you can right click on a drive in windows adn run erro checking.

You also may wnat to explore the Phothsop PDf option if you have large files taht you want to put compression on. PDF has been wonderful for us.

Hard to understand if your post is about Illustrator, and if you are using a brushstroke from the brushes palette called Thick to Thin(don’t knwo of one by that name in the defaults of any Illustrator).

Sounds like you want to use a digitizing tablet and the pressure to vary the thickness of your stroke. In that case choose a Calligraphic brush like 3pt. You can doubleclick on it if you want to dial up the sensistivity.
