In windows open a folder and chnage the view to the one you would like (I like details cause it stays in 1 vertical alphabetical column). The go to tools >> folder options >> view tab >> click on apply to all folders.

If this doesnt’ work, which of the 5 views are in when you use the open window (thumbnails, list, tiles, icons, details)? Sounds like you may be in a thumbnails view or somehting since you mentioned rearranging, you want to be in a detils or list view is what most people use.

You can bring the logo into illustrator first, and then crack it up by drawing some lines on top and then using pathfinder divide. You can then manually spread the letters apart adn use effect >> 3D.. Extrue & bevel.

You can also crack up your letters easily with the knife tool as an alterante method if you prefer to do this free form adn do nto need contorl over having perfectly straight lines.

Check the name of your file to have alphanumerics. I remember somehting abotu a file with a comma in the name and an operand error came up. You can use dashes, underscores and quite a few other charchters, but just change the filename to x.ai and see if it opens.

We sued a similar technique to open CS2 files in CS1 of placing the ile in a new docuemnt Once it came up bitmapped, so we used expand and it fixed the logo.

There is a small chance expanding will work for your corrupted file, otherwise I think your file is in bad shape unless running a hard disk utility may fix some blocks on your drive that may be crosslinked.

Sorry the strokes palette is only exists in Illustrator, photoshop has a stroke layer style, but that will be of little use.

You might as well set a line dashes in arial, rasterize this then duplicate that for the opposite end, and and erase to make the shortened sides.

You defintely would want to do this in illustrator over photoshop

Quick Method
Draw a rectangle the size of the coupon
In strokes palette turn on dashed line

Method for perfect corners
Draw a rectanngle the size of a dash on bottom left
Option drag a copy to bottom right
Create a blend between both and specify the number of steps
Alt Drag a copy to the top
Repeat same process for the sides.
Dashes at corners should overlap at 90 degrees rotation to get an L shape

Good to hear it worked out. I haven’t tried a gray background, but I think that should work great. Usually I usually prefer white cause of dark hair color or clothing, but black can be a great solution also for very high key subjects.

Check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opentype for more info on opentype. That Swiss 924 I gave you to test is owned by my work and it could have come from a number of places, to even free with purchase of Corel Draw (they gave out lots of BT fonts with their software). I was not here when they purchase their type library.

Thanks for the info on the bug with suitcase and .ttf, I did not know you could just change the extension and it would still work.

I am glad you mentioned .flm or else I would have simply suggested using the pen tool so you can rotoscope your images. You also will want the levels of gray so will suggest a bitmapped method.

What you need to do is click on the alpha channel. Paint will black on the white alpha channel to do your first frame (you will see the image get a red mask showing the mask.

When done you will need to step and repeat this downwards to the next frame. This is where I find Photoshop is lacking a step & repeat. You have an offset, but that will not leave the original.

I simply hold down alt & shift and drag a copy downwards and visually center (can use cursor keys to get back in precisley and quickly). You can also turn on the info palette and set it to pixels to see how far you are dragging a copy.
