You could place this is in illustrator, and define a bruish from an image of the scale. Then apply it this scale brush to a vector path tracing your winding road. Keep the stroke weight at 1 point, but not sure that would be 100% accurate though.

A simple method that would work 100% is putting a string up to monitor and curve it along the road, then mark the endpoint on the string with a pen. You only then need to straighten out the string and place it along the scale.

Illustrator has a 3d plug-in already built into the program since CS1. Effect >> 3D >> (you havev 3 hoices here such as extrude, lathe, rotate)

Is there something else you wanted Illustrator to do. KPT Vector effects is a classic and still works on the PC AICS2 atleast, but I believe it stopped working on the mac.

Immeditely after booting illustrator hold down these 3 keys (Shift Ctrl Alt) until prompted about do you want to reset your prefs.

Sorry but stroke layer styles setting to inside is the only way to do this, and I have been pushing these type of bread & butter features on the Adobe beta’s for years.

Illustrator works much better for strokes. You can copy your photoshop stroke into illustrato as a vector path, stroke it in illustrator and then bring that in as a smart object. I fill with the illustrator path same color incase I am off by a pixel.

Try resetting your illustrator preferences. Since you said this used to work good chance this will be fixed.

If you had a huge rectangle outside the canvas on your page, and you do a select all, it may appears you lost your transform handle, as they are just outside your view area. Most likley my first suggestion is your solution, but mentioning this as I once had someone in a class in that situation.

My belief is this problem makes a difference as to what printer you send to. When I print to our Ricoh laser printers here, I set the bleed to .125″ and I get 0″ for bleed.

If you print to PDF though you should get an accurate distance for bleeds. I really never use this printing options form Phtohsop casue it has been buggy. This is not a problem for me as I ussually place my phothsop images in another program and set bleeds there.

Try printing to antoher printer, and you may find this works, otherwise you will have to draw your won crop marks in Phtohsop to get accurate trim marks.

Did you expand the appearance, prior to copying?

If your livetrace has many paths, you may want to export this as a bitmapped image and import this into AE.

I got your file, and now the same thing is happening to files on both my home and work machine (716 to 724K). Seems whatever this is, it will pass itself from one machine to antoher. Probably not a virus just a bug in the software that resetting pref does not clear.

I must have done about 30 saves and one of them actually got back to 80k, after I was playing with the preference for edit preferences >> file handling >> image preview size. Must have bbena fluker as I have nto been able to replicate this. Found nothing on google or adobe forums about this.

I found though that edit >> color settings >> Emulate ID CS 2 OFF will get files down to 144k on a new document, but not a save as on the file you sent me.
