transform handles have disappeared

i have illustrator CS2 installed on windows vista home OS.
my problem is that recently my transform handles have disappeared. every time i have to scale down anything i have to use scale tool. no transform handles r appearing.
how can i get ’em back.

May 14, 2007 at 2:35 pmTry resetting your illustrator preferences. Since you said this used to work good chance this will be fixed.
If you had a huge rectangle outside the canvas on your page, and you do a select all, it may appears you lost your transform handle, as they are just outside your view area. Most likley my first suggestion is your solution, but mentioning this as I once had someone in a class in that situation.

where should i reset my preferences. i went to file preferences but there is the option to reset warning dialoges.
how to reset preferences in illustrator cs2

May 15, 2007 at 1:21 pmImmeditely after booting illustrator hold down these 3 keys (Shift Ctrl Alt) until prompted about do you want to reset your prefs.

March 7, 2014 at 3:19 amI think, to restore auto transform in illustrator as seen in the picture attachment sent it, you just press Shift + Ctrl + B or select View – Show Bounding Box. that’s it!
