May 30, 2007 at 6:29 am in reply to: How to move composition from one Project to anotherYou can File>Import>File, then choose an aep (AE project file)with that comp, and it will open up that project with said comp in it’s own folder. Delete all the new files except the comp and you should have what you want…
Or…
In that aep with the comp you want to transfer, File>Save As, and give it a new name like “Comp to Import” (or whatever) and then Import that comp as above.
No other way I know of.

Here’s an earlier ost that does what you want:

The first one, the hockey players zooming around in a circle just looks like AE 3D layers going in a circle with Motion Blur enable in the layers and comp.
Walker effects has a 2001: Stargate plugin that would make short work of the car driving with the houses zooming past:
https://www.walkerfx.com/plugins/
You can make your own with AE 3D images of houses. You can see how to align the house images by watching Andrew’s tut:
https://www.videocopilot.net/videotutorials/3droom/index.htm
Then move the walls toward and past you with z position keyframes and loop the comp they’re in (or precomp a looped version.

OK, this is a little more complicated, but you can wiggle a mask’s vertices this way:
https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?forumid=2&postid=891545
So the stroked line, the mask would wiggle, as the mask vertices wiggled. You might want a subtler wiggle, like:
wiggle (0.5, 10)
tweak to taste.

Does that mean you are using an effect like Stroke to draw them on mask/paths imported from Illustrator?
You might want to try either Wave Warp (Wave Height low, maybe 4, and Wave Width 80 or so), or Turbulent Displace (animate the evolution), both are under Distort in AE 6.5.

OK, I don’t fully understand what you’re trying to do, but that’s me because I don’t use AE cameras that much, but I did think of a way to get all those keyframes relatively easily.
Make a new Solid (I used 30×30), “P” reveals Position, Alt click the Solid’s Position Stopwatch, then pickwhip (looks like “@”, middle little box when you add expression) to the Camera’s Position, to get an expression like this:
thisComp.layer(“Camera 1”).position
This just tells the solid to use the camera’s position as it’s position. If we convert that expression to keyframes, we have what you want.
Now, highlight that expression, the “Position” next to the equal sign, and then, Animation>Keyframes Assistant>Convert Expression to Keyframes. Now you have all the keyframes for that move and you can Copy/paste them back into the camera’s position if you want them there.
——————————–
Here are two methods to keep the “Focus Distance” of the camera the same as the distance from the camera to the object it’s looking at. Is that what your trying to do?
I think the second method, Dan’s is more Universal, works for all cases, but I haven’t really checked them out in a project.
1) Andrew’s “Create a 3D Room with Cool Title”, camera focus stuff starting at 5 1/2 minutes:
https://www.videocopilot.net/videotutorials/3droom/index.htm
2) Here is another way, more accurate in some instances:

Can you just parent one to the other, sounds like that’s the result you want.
You can still use expressions on Children, Dan’s territory though.

No not really. You can do it but not in one step (as far as I know). Just curious as to why you would want to do that. Do you want all of the keyframes? Why?
Do you want only a few of the “tween” keyframes, you can do that. Just move to where in the timeline you want the “tween” keyframes and click on the “Add or Remove Keyframe at Current Time” box, the place that has the check mark when you are on a keyframe.
Anyway you could add a keyframe at all the “tweens”, by starting at the first keyframe, hitting “Page Down”, then clicking on that box, “Page Down” + click on box, etc, etc…
If you can make your animation with an expression you can convert those to keyframes at every frame with Animation>Keyframe Assistant>Convert Expression to Keyframes.

Tracking Tuts
Here’s the rest of the Tracking Tuts I know of. And for a step by step on adjusting a track that goes bad (Tracks gone bad! the movie) see the 3rd part of Aharon’s series on turning video into cartoons, there he tracks an eye onto the character, starts at the 5 minute mark. It’s only a 1 point track but he shows you how to adjust frame by frame when the tracker gets cranky. Hope these help.
