Me thinks, Digital Anarchy’s 3D layer should do it with the proper Grayscale displacement map.

Opps, I need to refresh the page, before I “Post Direct”. Dan’s is sooo much simpler.

You need to copy the keyframes, paste then into the new layer, then change the keyframes into “Roving Keyframes”. This will allow you to stretch them evenly over time.

Select all the keyframes (draw a little marquee with you pointer), copy. Now Paste them into the new, longer layer. Now select the interior keyframes (all the ones in the middle, between the outside keyframes). Like if there are five keyframes, select the three in the middle.

Animation>Keyframe Interpolation, open the keyframe interpolation box,
Change the bottom drop-down from “Lock To Time” to “Rove Across Time”.
Now when you drag either of the end keyframes, the ones in the middle will move proportionately.

Off Subject: I love the way AE handles keyframes, I’m hoping they can bring some of that to Flash.

While not the look you want, Filip Vandueren’s tutorial, “Using Curves to Simulate bleach Bypass”, should with tweaking of the individual r,g,b histograms let you get exactly what you want.

I don’t believe FLV supports transparency, at least the Flash player7 doesn’t for video files, but Flash 8 will (a real Wow Factor for Flash). Go over to the Cow Flash Forum, Lee is the Flash Video Guy, and search for Flash 8 there to see a clip of transpenrt video in Flash 8 (coming soon to a website near you).

I think any transparent stuff done in flash now is with png sequences, which you can export from AE.

Dup the layer, mask and apply the Gaussian blur to the top layer. M reveals the mask for the layer. Set the mask to Subtract, or check the Invert box. Chang Mask Shape, Feather the mask and expand contact, mask opacity, all keyframeable.

June 15, 2005 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Quick newbie export question

If you have the newer Premiere, I believe you can just copy/paste, otherwise whatever format you export as, make sure it has an alpha (+).

In the Render Que (Ctrl M), choose a format, like Lossless, double click on the Blue Loseless and up pops the “Output Module”.

Now in the “Video Output” section, from the Channels dropdown choose, RGB + Alpha, this should change Depth (the dropdown below from Millions of Colors to Millions of Colors+. That’s the key thing for any of the codecs (or Uncompressed here) to make sure you get the little + (alpha).

Popular codecs are QT Animation, and Tiff or Targa Sequence (then if your render crashes, you can pickup from there).

    Hope this helps.

Nice, but man you got to be a little more selective in the women you hang with.
