Illustrator has a vectorize ability now, I saw it here on a Cow video that looks very nice. I’d give that a try on a video converted to an image sequence. It’s worth a try.

You can jazz this up to taste with glows etc.Or get a fully functional demo of PI at:

Audio Wave form in AE, with no audio referenced makes a pretty nice neon.

You can always output the video you want to put Sketchmaster on, via the AE Render Que as a filmstrip (or several types of image sequences, but I like Filmstrip), then open that in Photoshop and put the old Sketchmaster on it. Then bring it back into AE. It not as tedious as it sounds.

Have you seen Dan’s, “Animating a Walk-Cycle”? Click Dan Ebbert’s head above then scroll down, make the stick figure (in layers in AI). As a bonus, with AI files AE can output vectors for very small web animations. That’s one way.

Here’s a great freebie site, even comes with tuts for compositing the free footage they give you:

Particle Illusion also has some nice muzzle flashes, even with casings flying out ala automatic/machinegun. Go ask at the PI Forumn here at the Cow. I forgot which month had the muzzle flash particles. There is the PI SE version, 30 days fully functional free trial. PI hopes to soon have an AE plugin.

Thanks mucho. I for one, find the most interesting books in the library when I’m sluthing in the stacks, looking at titles around the one I’d looked up in the catalogue.
The pasture is now in full bloom with wild flowers.

Oh, if it only looks like one layer looking at you, change camera view to Custom View 1, then you get a little perspective. You can change the workspace via, Windows>Workspace>Two Comp Views and put one of then on Custom View One.
Add a camera, the change via, camera Tool, Orbit and Track.

It’s pretty straight forward really. Put 6 layers (for a cube)into a comp, make all the layers 3D, select all those layers, then Windows>Box Creator lite. And you should have the layer distributed in a box in 3D space.
For a cube it helps if all the layers are square (say 320×320), and they’re all the same size, then plug in the 320 into the x,y,z boxes in the Box Creator window.

Box Creator is from Digital Anarchy, and there are some tuts (cube second one down here:
