    If you don’t want to use Invigorator, here’s another post, it comes with a zipped aep file:

    I just finished an animated character dancing (still waiting to hear, it was a contest, yikes!) and I used Dan’s “Animating a Walk Cycle” for stitching a character together. There’s some great stuff in that tut (Click Dan’s head at the top then scroll down to the tut) about looping, to keep a walk cycle going.
    Dan has a cool IK setup here:
    https://www.motionscript.com/expressions-lab-ae65/ik.html

    Anyway to answer you original question, Distort > CC Bender and Turbulent Displace do what you want, but there’s a glitch if you use Dan’s method (like I did) of parenting for the rest of the body, Bender moves the neck, spinal cord, as you’d like, but it messes up in that the head will stay where it was (since it’s anchor point doesn’t know about bender changing things below). Simple Solution, Precompose, or drag that comp into a new comp and apply Bender(or other effect) to the whole body, and by moving the Top And Base, you can only bend the parts you want, and everyone else stays connected. You can do some amazing smooth body movements this way. You can drag a window out for the other comp so you can see any changes one makes in the other, just drag the tab.

    Maybe this will work for you. Good Luck.

    Correction.

    Actually I remembered, what really jazzes up film burn is getting a little color on those burning edge with:

    Roughen Edges-
    Roughen Color
    Edge Color-you choice, a nice yellow orange looks like burning acetate to me.
    Border 20 or below (Right Click Value to Change Value, then Lower Slider Value- can go down to minimum)
    Scale 20

    So stack the Filters:

    Film Burn
    Roughen Color
    Glass, and animate the Glass as it burns to get you bubbles.

    Try the effect Right Below CC Film Burn, CC Glass, I think they work well together.

    February 6, 2006 at 6:25 pm in reply to: quick expressions question, audio + scale on layer

    It should work.

    Are you pickwhipping to a Stopwatch?

    Alt Click the Scale Stopwatch for the layer(s) you want to scale with the music, then pickwhip that to the Slider (“E” on the Audio Amplitutde Layer reveals the Left Channel, Right Channel, Both Channels, Twirl Down one of those to expose the Slider, you need to pickwhip to the stopwatch).

    This starts at 100% for the layer(s) and adds scales up with the music:

    temp = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
    value + [temp, temp]*20

    The *20 is just to multiply the audio temp values as they are small. Adjust to get the size increase you want.

    This just uses the music temp values so the layer is the size of the temp values (again with the *20 so we can see it better).

    temp = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
    [temp, temp]*20

  • You can export layers as mov or avi, you can copy and paste keyframes, with a little fore thought you can transfer a project down to you earlier AE, it’s just not nearly as convenient as being able to open an aep, but maybe better than nothing.

    I presume you trying AE& and want to put a project back in you lower AE.

    Or maybe this is a pretty stupid solution.

    Here’s a good oldie:

    Text That Blows Away Like Sand by Emanuel Reiksson

    https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_page_wrapper.cgi?forumid=2&page=https://www.creativecow.net/articles/eriksson_emanuel/sand/index.html

    Basically animate text into particles, moving them off the stage, then time reverse the clip or section with Time Remap or Time Stretch to -100.

    Whatever method you use, Shatter, a particle system, or even Simulation >CC BAll Action (a great quickie to fragment things, Grid Spacing to 0, ball size 80+, then animate the scatter parameter) then if you need finer particle, Simulation>Scatterize is nice.
