    Hi there,

sorry if this has been asked before…as I suspect it will have been….I am after creating a 3d sphere/world…..that I can layer map the outline of the world too and rotate around. I have invigorator if this is a possible way of doing it.

I have looked at the glass globe tutorial on here – but it isnt quite what I am after.

Of course you can do this, it’s the easiest thing to create in 3D Invigorator.

    -Create a new composition.
    -Create a Solid.
-Put your world layer map in your comp.
-Apply Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator on it.
    -Click “Create 3D Primitive”

    There’s your 3D sphere.

-Twirl that “Layer Map” little triangle in 3D Invigorator effect window.
-Assign your layer map to a picture (*.tga, preferably) to “Layer Map 1” that’s supposed to be in your comp window.
-Now in the 3D Invigorator window, click on “Options” at the top or on the little red ball in the middle right of the effect window.
-Select your sphere (click on it)
-Go in the “Object” index at the top.
-Make the “Draft” to 0.1 and the “Best” too in “Object Faceting”.
-Go at the “Materials” index at the top.
    -Click on the white ball.
-Twirly those 2 triangles up side down and you’ll see your layer map 1.
-Put it on the sphere in the “Scene Window”.

    Hope that helped!

Apply the Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator effect on the Solid, and not on your layer map, of course 🙂

I was pretty tired this morning when I read your question…and I read it pretty fast.

After reading it again, did I answered your question?

If you don’t want to use Invigorator, here’s another post, it comes with a zipped aep file:
