Hi Mike,
Thanks for your response…The joke did help…sitting in front of my computer for hours trying to get rid of a rustling sound was driving me nuts…especially when I didn’t record it myself and I suspect the client wants miracles…
Anyway, I’m calmer this morning and have perspective again…and I’ll give the guy your advice about the time machine 😉
Really appreciate the help
All the best

Hi Ross,
Thanks for the reply…I have tried that and can increase and decrease the size of my viewer/canvas window fine – to a point…then when they get to a certain size..fairly big but not big enough to fill the whole top half of my screen which is what i want they wont get any bogger they are locked…i pull the corner, the line extends but when I release the mouse the canvas/viewer window dont got larger.. it seems to work with the sequence, the bin window, the project window – they can go as big as i please…but not the canvas/viewer window…they seeme to be restricted to a certain size once i’ve adjusted them to that point…this is a really stupid thing to have to ask a question about but the reason why I am is I read this and other similar posts:
https://community.avid.com/forums/p/91329/519543.aspx
I only use one 30 inch apple monitor at the moment and was hoping to use the whole screen with mc as i do with fcp and premiere…I cant find it at the moment but i read another forum listing which specifically said that if you’re using one 30 inch monitor the viewer/canvas window will not be allowed to enlarge to any size you see fit – there will be restrictions based on proportions of either the pixel aspect ratio of your monitor or 16:9 space ratio…i like to have the canvas/viewer as big as possible for obvious reasons…at the moment it seems i’m stuck with small viewer/canvas and have to fill up the space on my screen with a bin or two so i’m not staring at my desktop…if this is the case i feel like i’ll be forced to buy a second monitor in order to maximise my ability to use the software…i prefer to have a choice…
Thanks,
Mike

August 4, 2011 at 3:48 pm in reply to: Windows seem like a mess… how to fix and lock this?Hi Andrew,
New to MC too and having the same problem…did what you outlined above but when i try to manually adjust the viewer/canvas window to use up all the screen space on the top half of my monitor, nothing happens…the outline goes to the end of the screen but when i release the mouse, the viewer/canvas haven’t moved…Realise there must be a way to do this…please let me know …my monitor is 30inch apple display…btw liked your first fcp to avid tut…
Thanks,
Mike

no worries….just found the New item icon in project pane to create sequence settings from clip settings…and then just tick match sequence settings on export…
