Here I am, answering in the best way I can:
a) The problem began almost immediately when I’ve installed the many plugins I use. There are Video Copilot’s, GenArts and Red Giant’s. Not all of them *I’d love to but meh $_$*, when starting AE seems to act like an Adobe Photoshop that have to load tons of Fonts and Brushes.
b) It run smoothly once started.
c) 8GB, and it does the same even if it’s the first program to open.

Wow.. Thanks, this thing actually lighted my mind. Sadly, because of my hurry, I have uninstalled the CS5 programs I have upgraded to 5.5 before re-install them, but if you say so, it means that having multiple versions indeed does not make the stability or performance suffer. I’ll keep that in mind, thanks.

Thanks a lot, but my question was a little different in some particulars. I do have AE CS5 on my workstation, so I’m worried about what will happen when I will disinstall it to replace it with the new 5.5 version. I have no doubts my Plugs will work, but Will I lose the ones I had and I’ll have to re-install them? It’s not a real problem, but I’m actually worried, indeed, about duplicates and stability between having CS5 and 5.5 both on the same OS, HDD and laptop.
Anyway, you’ve been of great help, thanks. ;°

EDIT: sorry for the double-post, but to add some kind of post scriptum, in the opening post I said that actually having some new 5.5 software now I have duplicates of Media Encoder and Bridge, is this ok? Can cause some issues? Any solution? Thanks again, guys.

Indeed! A VFX supervisor sent me almost 2GB of them, do I need a specific program or container to use them?

I think the problem is exactly in the Sapphires, so I still didn’t try to uninstall them because it actually IS what I need to finish this work. I will try resetting the preferences but for now I discovered something extremely weird.. I get a lot less problems (I get them, but fewer) if everytime I have to preview or render I move ALL the layers in a new comp. I don’t really understand “technically” how this helps but actually.. It does, a little.
I’m really interested about the “secret” option you mentioned as it could be something I unaware of, can you englight me? ;] Thanks for the help, really.

It’s getting worse, crashing as long as I hit “render”.

I have the Sapphire update 5.03 and Windows 7 doesn’t recognize any further update of my graphic card.

It IS sapphire, because the error says clearly that it failed rendering those.
