I’ve received some files that have been declared as AE projects that instead of the usual .aep extension has one named “.djae”, AE doesn’t (of course?) recognize them, and I didn’t find anything useful about them on the web: any idea of what they could be?

Indeed! A VFX supervisor sent me almost 2GB of them, do I need a specific program or container to use them?
