GenArts Sapphire – GPU Crash
Hi Guys.
I posted this exact problem in the past days and I hope this won’t break any rule, I’ll anyway write this from zero, adding as much info as I can.I’m working on a FULL HD 2D Graphics composition, and everytime I try to RAM Preview or Render the video, my screen goes blank and several (from 5 to 15) windows pop-up on my monitor warning me that the GPU crashed and that the comp weight in falling on the CPU.
After this, usually AE crashes completely, denying me any further work.
*I have the OpenGL off.
Is there anything I can do?
Multiple CPU processing can be a problem in this case?
Is there a way to from the start disable the GPU to avoid the crash?
Is there a way to solve the crash itself?!Thanks in advance, and sorry. :]

what does GenArts plugin has to do with anything? are you using it?
If you are…I know that many of this plugins use opengl assistance by default to speed things up. I don’t think turning it off through AE would meant your are not using your GPU. So maybe it will come up to a bad plugin(reinstall it?) or incompatible/unupdated video driver.

Actually, the GenArts plug-ins use CUDA (as opposed to OpenGL) to accelerate processing.
My first thought is to make sure that you have the newest video card drivers and the most recent updates from GenArts.

It IS sapphire, because the error says clearly that it failed rendering those.

I have the Sapphire update 5.03 and Windows 7 doesn’t recognize any further update of my graphic card.

Nvidia drivers are “8.17.12.6128”. Uff. I can’t find a way out, sorry for the multiple posts.
