  • thanks for your quick reply..but your solution comes very close to “do it manually” 😉

    thx for your reply!
your solution works good and is going to the right direction. this expression is restricted to one tick/second though. is there a way to control the amount of ticks/time ?

i applied your code to the scale property of a circle-shape layer. but the result is not quite what i expected: the position is changing constantly. thats ok so far. but the scaling of the (circle) layer doesnt’t work.

    hi filip!

your result looks great. but is there any way to get the same effect with shapes (rectangle, ellipses etc.) instead of a lens flare effect ?

    hi filip..

first off i want to thank you for the great effort you took in figuring out how to solve my problem!! your result looks great..though i posted that ball juggling clip just to show what i mean. im actually not working with the clip itself but i think your solution could be the answer anyway. unfortunately i got an error message when i tried to paste your code in the position property of the circle layer. the error message was this:

“after effects warning: function kick.valueAtTime is undefined. – Error occurred at line 15. Comp: “test” layer 3(“shape layer1”) property: “position”.

Since im still a newbie in the world of expressions..im not skilled enough to figure out for myself why i got this error. maybe you could give me a hint what im doing wrong. that would be great!

    thanks!

i did. i checked the source-footage and looped it. and it was perfect. the last frame was there..so there is no reason for the “one-frame-gap-phenomenon” after each loop in the particle-system. framerate was also ok. i wish i could show you a clip of the source-footage loop..but im at home right now and not at my workstation in the studio. but trust me..i checked all the issues you mentioned!

    hi dave..

i already made a test looping it in the interpret setting window instead of looping it in particular. nothing changed…same problem ;((
