Funny enough, i saw the behind the scenes for one of those spots, and they used the real person, because i remember watching him rehearse it through thier head in the dressing room, and the whole thing was about how they were going to go about doing it, they actualy had a frame outside of the camera shot, that they referenced for the camera shot for the actor, but i believe they use the real celeb.

3d motion tracking in after effects alone i do not believe is possible, there are ways to trick the effect. I would search it in the cow database, but i do believe syntheyes does 3d motion tracking.

wellllll, this is kinda of an idea, you could duplicate the layer and then key out the house since it seems to be mostly white try and put in a sky or trees, but other than frame by frame, i dont think there is any other way with this kind of a shot. But i dont know much you’d have to wait for a better post. Just my 2 cents. (or maybe 3)

Yes there is, it is called rotoscoping or rotosplining, you would have to mask out just the actor or subject and then animate the mask, and if the shot is the same as he grows the “hero” shot will act as the bg for him. If there is a simpler way then i would also like to know, but thats about all i know.

well, I saw an interesting tutorial on total training that involved a few hundred MRI pictures of the human body and they overlayed them over each other in z-space and when you turned on blending layers it looked like a 3d human body. might not be much help but its the best i got.

p.s. Also, I’m very well connected; those of you making helpful posts, thanks.. I’m always a potential client… for those who attacked me, well there’s consequences for that, too. 😮

I am 18 years old and I know not to say those things, this is a place for posts, not a place for idle power trips or things of that nature, stick to your topic and show a little respect.
We did not attack you, your post sounded as if you thought you were a know it all and that AE was not as great as it is. Sorry for the miscommunication but lets have some decency.

” (c’mon, you experienced AE folks.. what’s the “Big deal” that AE can do, that I can’t already do in Vegas, with fx plugins?) ”

Dont mean to be rude, but I believe you have made yourself look a little ignorant, there is quite an obvious difference between AE and Vegas, as the above posters have noted, there for I can only believe that your lying about getting “in deep” with after effects because if you had , i would not be typing this post right now. I mean , all’s you have to do to notice the difference between the two is to watch the promo videos for them and you will notice. I can understand asking the difference between AE and motion or Vegas and Final Cut but not that Vegas can do almost anything AE can do. Have fun trying that.
