If you are using AE’s render queue, what are your render settings and output module settings?
If you are sending your render to AME, what are your settings there?

You can render it with alpha out of Cinema 4D. You can make the material have no color, no reflectance (or no specular, if you’re using an older version of C4D), and just put whatever color(s) you want in the luminance channel. Than you’ll have a very 2d/vector-looking animation even though it was made in a 3d app. You can easily recolor it in AE too. 🙂

30 GB is not a lot for your cache, but it’s unlikely to be the cause of your problems.

The Tint effect is now GPU-accelerated. I wonder if something was going awry there. Try turning your project to use software only and not CUDA or OpenCL and see if it behaves.

It kinda depends on how the shot looks. Is the camera moving? What are you trying to do, exactly?

Don’t forget to file feature requests to get Set Matte fixed. As the team turns their focus towards improving AE now that the bugs of CC 2015 are (mostly) squashed, this would be a good time to fix it. It’s already more useful in that we can choose Effects and Masks of layers to reference in last week’s release, time for the next step! https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

Glad to help! That’s a handy feature unless it gets turned on by accident 😉

You have Draft 3d turned on for your comp. See that little icon in blue? Turn it off.

After Effects is not made for video editing. Premiere Pro uses the GPU a lot (it is a video editor).
After Effects doesn’t use the GPU for much. That being said, more and more of the native effects are being GPU-accelerated.

But, for everything that isn’t GPU-accelerated (most of After Effects), CPU clock speed is the most important factor. Get the fastest clock speed you can.

32 GB of RAM is great in a laptop. If you want something more powerful, you should probably get a desktop.

Also, get two SSDs if you can. One for your OS/Apps and the other for AE’s cache.

Pretty sure that’s because there is no such thing as a 360 gif…
At least, I’ve never heard of one.
