You don’t have to trace over the Illustrator files…
If you right-click on your Illustrator layer… Wait, are you bringing them in as layers? It might not help – designers often don’t use layers correctly in Illustrator. Anyway, if you right-click on your Illustrator, there’s an option to Create Shapes from Vector Layer (also available under the Layer menu).
That’ll get you the actual paths in AE.
You can copy a path for each letter into a mask path and then use the Scribble effect to generate the fills.

After Effects includes Cinema 4D Lite, so you could use an image on a plane and use displacement in the material to get that sort of effect.

That’s happened to me, but it’s usually when I have audio from a video source and am not using the video. Are those video clips actually supposed to be showing video at that point?

I mean, if you don’t need to sync things up, there’s no need to get too crazy. You could just create four different angles (either shoot them or make them digitally) and have them looping on the screens.

I know lots of people who have to degrain and regrain. It’s vital in VFX work – some people are VERY picky about their grain! I think Dave might not be very involved in that sort of work, you’ll have to forgive him.

AE has the Difference Matte effect you could use to pull the differences between the denoised and the original footage. But I’d need to put quite a bit more brainpower into figuring out the rest of that node setup that I don’t have to spare at the moment.

If you’re trying to get people to take your plugins seriously, maybe don’t advertise all over the place that it’s your first go at it. Instead, it might be better to point out a problem and the solution that your plugin provides. It would probably also be good to mention what it is in your post here. You just say, “Come check out my very first attempt at a plugin!” But who would want to do that for some random person? Also, maybe a bit more information and some video demonstrations would be helpful. As far as I can tell from your page, it just puts boxes on the screen.

Also, your page says you made it, not because you thought it would be useful, but because you didn’t have any ideas. Now, it’s fine to make something you might not think is useful just to practice making a plugin, but it would make more sense just to keep it for yourself as practice and not try to release it. It’s going to make people think you release anything instead of releasing stuff that’s useful.

You could do it in Form by using another layer with Fractal Noise on it (gradually transitioning to being all one color) to drive the scale. Form lets you use other layers as maps.

Although, you don’t need Form at all. In fact, the hip thing these days would be to do this with a text animator! Check out this tutorial for some really cool, powerful things to do with the text animator: https://youtu.be/plbsdkRhy8g He makes a cool, abstract box (like you describe) around 23 minutes in, but the whole thing is really useful.

Most software makes things bigger when doing an actual 3d bevel. If it went in instead of out, there’s a good chance corners would smoosh into each other. Full-fledged 3d apps often have options to move inward, but default is out.

I’m still not quite picture what you’re trying to do, but Newton might be a good place to start. It’s a third-party add-on for AE that gives you some pretty powerful 2d physics simulations in AE.
