  • I’d suggest using a linear() expression on each object pointed at a slider with an offset to each one such that, as the slider is at 1, object one is fully in focus and as it gets further from 1, object 1 gets blurrier and when the slider is at 2, object 2 is at its sharpest and gets blurrier as the number goes further…if that makes sense. 🙂

What version of AE are you using?
What version of DUIK are you using?

How you’ve created the eye will make a big difference in how you can animate it. I mean, there’s always this option: https://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2016/04/another-new-plug-in/

  • I don’t think this would work, but it’s worth a try.
Precompose your Particle World layer (making sure that you are moving ALL ATTRIBUTES into the precomp so the effect is now inside the precomp). Then, try applying time remapping to the precomp.

It sounds like you need to look into Master Properties. You can have as many instances as you want of your character comp – all with different values for each one!

  • Yeah, shape layers can be a bit weird since you can move the center of the shape and the anchor point of the shape group separately from the anchor point of the layer. At a certain point, it’d be easier to use a wiggle expression on the property yourself instead of trying to use animation presets.

Also make sure to turn off depth of field on your camera. If that’s the issue, make sure you adjust the focus point.

  • The only way I know how to do that is to use text animators. You can set them to select by word. You could use expression control effects to tie the text animator selectors for the color change to those sliders and then expose those sliders in the EGP for Premiere users.

  • I would use text animators to make it scale down in y and up in x (per character) in order to get it to roughly the right shape and then swap it for an actual stroke or rectangle when possible.

Is the Element 3d object anywhere near where the camera is pointing?
